Cameron Caprio founded VentureMFO in 2019 to provide clients with a single point of contact for the oversight of their business transition, family governance, and wealth planning needs. With experience consulting for the largest accounting and multi-family office firms in the country, he was frustrated by the fact that entrepreneurial families were not achieving their financial goals.
Notwithstanding teams of experienced advisors, Cameron observed that business succession and wealth transfer plans were failing—and a contributing factor was a breakdown in family dynamics. Passionate about better outcomes, he created VentureMFO with the goal of aligning his client’s principles and values with their tangible assets and structures to help build a true and lasting legacy.
Cameron has counseled ultra-high-net-worth families and their closely held businesses for his entire career—from working with startup companies on tax-efficient structuring and formation to advising family-owned enterprises on executive compensation arrangements and ownership transfers. Certainly, this in-depth knowledge of tax, estate, and investment planning allows him to design effective strategies—but Cameron understands that to help his clients accomplish their financial goals, his strategic advice should be founded in their family’s mission.
Previously a Tax Consultant at Bessemer Trust, Cameron worked with a select clientele of ultra-high-net-worth families to provide integrated tax, estate, and wealth management solutions for their complex family structures and closely held enterprises. He began his career as a tax specialist for WTAS (now Andersen) where he focused his practice in the areas of individuals, trusts, gifts and estates with an emphasis on planning for multi-generational families, corporate executives, private business owners, and entrepreneurs. Cameron also served as a senior tax associate at Morrison, Brown, Argiz & Farra and a financial advisor at AllianceBernstein.
Cameron received a B.S. in accounting from Florida State University. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Personal Financial Specialist (PFS), and a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) practitioner. He is a member of the Estate Planning Council of Greater Miami, the Greater Miami Tax Institute (GMTI), the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA), and the Florida Institute of CPAs (FICPA).
Cameron serves on the board of directors of Florida Foster Care Review (FFCR) and is a volunteer on the Citizen Review Panel (CRP) in Miami-Dade County.
